ROLEPLAY DEMONSTRATION OF INITIAL INTERVIEW
FAILURE TO REACH ORGASM
This is a 20-minute roleplay demonstration of a brief initial interview of a woman presenting with the complaint of lifelong inability to reach orgasm. Major areas for further evaluation are illustrated as the therapist, played by retired Marital & Sex Therapist Robert W. Birch, Ph.D., meets in a mock session with a married client, roleplayed by AASECT Certified Sex Therapist Cynthia Lief Ruberg, LPCC. Dr. Birch and Ms. Ruberg are coauthors of Pathways to Pleasure and the eBook Sensual Pathways to Pleasure.
This demonstration was originally recorded in 1995 on videotape for classroom instruction. It has recently been burned onto DVD and is not of professional quality. It should, however, illustrate at least one approach to beginning to understand a woman's difficulty achieving orgasm. It should be of value to a woman contemplating therapy or in the processs of her own journey. It should also be of value to a counselor or therapist who is in the process of learning about the evaluation and treatment of female sexual concerns.
